Thanks to everyone. I took mine apart this morning. It is similar to the Schaefer but unbranded plain aluminum. Even after taking off the top place I had to work the frozen sheave off with a hammer, screwdriver and channel locks. It was frozen for a,long time - the sheave had a groove in it from the old wire halyard. I replaced it temporarily with a slightly larger Ronstan, leaving the screw a little loose. I now have both my cunningham and reefing line running back to the cockpit.
