Steve: I added a 400 lb. shoe that brought the draft to 6'6". This was after conversations with Rob Ball. Rob said he originally designed the 34 to have 6'6" of draft, but the marketing dept. cut it off to 5'10". Before the shoe, the boat was a light wind flyer, but would not point high once the wind was 12 kts or more. To keep the boat on her feet we had to reduce sail area which cost us speed. While we lost a little light air performance, the shoe more than made up for it in overall performance.

If you sail in predominantly light wind area you will love the boat.
