Agreed, plus add in the comfort of sailing a stiffer boat...heel angle is much reduced as the wind builds and some people like that and the boat likes it too...its faster and a lot easier than reducing sail whenever the wind builds

This was after conversations with Rob Ball. Rob said he originally designed the 34 to have 6'6" of draft, but the marketing dept. cut it off to 5'10". Before the shoe, the boat was a light wind flyer, but would not point high once the wind was 12 kts or more. To keep the boat on her feet we had to reduce sail area which cost us speed. While we lost a little light air performance, the shoe more than made up for it in overall performance. When I bought mine I heard of this and wondered if it would be a good investment. 3 seasons later I'm happy with the boat and feel no urgency to add the shoe. BTW we're not in a light wind area. We get just about everything for conditions on west side of Georgian Bay. If you sail in predominantly light wind area you will love the boat. Check out the stability diagram and the sailing calculator on Stu's site under technical info for more information and boat comparisons. http://www.cncphotoalbum.com/ Dwight Veinot C&C 35 MKII, Alianna Head of St. Margaret's Bay, NS _____ _______________________________________________ This List is provided by the C&C Photo Album http://www.cncphotoalbum.com [email protected] _______________________________________________ This List is provided by the C&C Photo Album http://www.cncphotoalbum.com [email protected] ----- No virus found in this message.
