Joel, My thoughts.
1. I built the AC and DC breaker panels for Touche' from scratch. I used Ancor 8 gang panels and installed the breakers. They came out nice. Would I do it again? NO! I'd buy the appropriate Blue Sea panel with everything pre-wired. The only advantage I realized by building my own panels was getting the exact size breakers I wanted for each circuit. What I lost was all the nice indicator lights and buss bars, etc behind the panel. 2. By the time you disassemble the old panel, clean it up, paint it (or get it powder coated) you will wish you'd bought a new Blue Sea pre-made panel. I just saw Fred's reply which echoes my feelings.
