I installed a Victron 702 plus a VE.Direct Bluetooth smart dongle and I'm very happy with it. I followed the instructions here for the most part:
http://www.pbase.com/mainecruising/battery_monitor With the Bluetooth dongle and the Victron iPhone app I can easily check the status of the house and engine battery from anywhere on the boat.
