It took me a while, but I eventually ordered an Isotherm SPA unit. It is more expensive, but it comes with the temperature regulation valve and it is stainless throughout.
Thanks, Dennis, for the suggestion. I was wondering if there is a common wisdom on which ones are good and which ones are to be avoided. It looks like Kuuma, Camco and Seaward are available here (and all seem to look the same or very similar). I am looking for a 5-6 gal. heater that can use the engine coolant (and potentially AC, but this is secondary).
