Szelgia reported a Glaucous and imm Lesser Black-backed Gull at Thomas Reservoir on December 26. Thomas Reservoir is on 119th in Erie. --At the Valmont Complex on December 25, Floyd reported: 2 MEW GULLS (1 ad, 1 1st-cycle), 4 Thayer's Gulls (3 1-st cycle), 8 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (4 ad, 4 1st-cyc), 1 GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL (1st-cyc), 1 ad Glaucous Gull, 1 1st-cyc GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL and a Chihuahuan Raven. Delta County: --A Red Fox Sparrow was reported by Garrison at the Paonia Ranger State Office on December 9. The address is 403 North Rio Grande (across the creek from Apple Valley Park). Both the Red and Slate-colored Fox Sparrow were seen by Boswell on December 23. --A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes was reported by Garrison on the river at the boat ramp at Confluence Park in Delta on December 21. Denver County: --A pair of Barrow’s Goldeneye was reported by Henwood along the S. Platte River just north of the bridge on W. Evans Ave on December 14. Thornton-Kolbe reported that the Barrow's Goldeneye continue to be seen on the S. Platte between Evans and Florida on December 22. He suggests that you start at the Florida bridge. Douglas County: --A f American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Walbek above Sedalia on December 18. Go west on Hwy 67 from Sedalia to .2 miles east of Rampart Range Road. Stachowiak found 2 American Three-toed Woodpeckers in the same location on December 19. Huffstater reported one American Three-toed Woodpecker at the area on December 21. Huerfano County: --Beverly Jensen reported that all 3 species of Rosy-finches are visiting her feeders in La Veta as recently as December 24. You are welcome to view her yard. Jefferson County: --A juv GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Brown behind the Trading Post at Red Rocks on December 19 and was seen by several birders. The sparrow was seen on December 24 by Kibbe. Chavez and Kibbe suggest bringing some bird seed and scattering it to attrack the birds. Larimer County: --An adult GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL and a 1-st cycle Thayer's Gull were reported by Komar at Spring Creek Dam on December 21. Mesa County: --A White-winged Dove was reported by Korte in the 2400 block of Mesa Ave in Grand Junction on December 25. Montezuma County: --A White-winged Dove was reported by Garrison on CR 22 north of Arriola at a farm house with large Douglas Firs in the yard on December 23. Routt County: --10 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported on the Yampa River on CR 179 just south of US 40 and east of Milner on December 21 by Litteral. Summit County: --2 pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Kulp at the Silverthorne Sewage Ponds on December 22.
