Highlight species include (*Denotes that there is new information for this species in this report) Surf Scoter (Pueblo) Long-tailed Duck (Pueblo) Barrow's Goldeneye (*Delta, Denver, Logan, Pueblo, *Routt) BLACK-HEADED GULL (Larimer) MEW GULL (Boulder, Pueblo) Thayer’s Gull (*Larimer, Pueblo) Lesser Black-backed Gull (Boulder, Pueblo) Glaucous Gull (Boulder, Pueblo) GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL (*Larimer, Pueblo) White-winged Dove (Pueblo) YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER (Fremont) American Three-toed Woodpecker (*Douglas) Black Phoebe (Pueblo) Chihuahuan Raven (Boulder) Winter Wren (Boulder, El Paso) Fox Sparrow (*Delta, Garfield, Montrose) White-throated Sparrow (Jefferson) Harris's Sparrow (Delta) GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW (Fremont, *Jefferson) Lapland Longspur (*Larimer) Northern Cardinal (Pueblo) Rusty Blackbird (Boulder) White-winged Crossbill (Boulder, *Larimer) Boulder County: --A Winter Wren has been reported by DeFonso on private property near Hygiene on Dec. 16; it was seen again by Bell on December 17 skulking in the tangles northwest of the bridge over the St. Vrain at 63rd St. A Winter Wren was reported by Deininger at 63rd St on December 19. --A Lesser Black-backed Gull (adult) and a Thayer's Gull (first cycle) were reported by Gent at Thomas Reservoir on December 13 and seen again by Szeliga on December 19. Thomas Reservoir is off 119th Street east of Lafayette. --A Chichuahuan Raven was reported by Schmoker on the Longmont CBC on December 19. --Seen on the Boulder CBC on December 20 as reported by Schmoker were: MEW GULL, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Glaucous Gull, Chihuahuan Raven, Rusty Blackbird, and White-winged Crossbill. Delta County: --A Red Fox Sparrow was reported by Garrison at the Paonia Ranger State Office on December 9. The address is 403 North Rio Grande (across the creek from Apple Valley Park). Both the Red and Slate-colored Fox Sparrow were seen by Garrison on December 21. --A Harris’s Sparrow was reported by Beason in his yard on December 5 and was seen as recently as December 16. --A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes was reported by Garrison on the river at the boat ramp at Confluence Park in Delta on December 21. Denver County: --A pair of Barrow’s Goldeneye was reported by Henwood along the S. Platte River just north of the bridge on W. Evans Ave on December 14. The male Barrow’s Goldeneye has been reported by various individuals moving within a mile or two of the previously reported are as recently as December 17. Douglas County: --A f American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Walbek above Sedalia on December 18. Go west on Hwy 67 from Sedalia to .2 miles east of Rampart Range Road. Stachowiak found 2 American Three-toed Woodpeckers in the same location on December 19. Huffstater reported one American Three-toed Woodpecker at the area on December 21. El Paso County: --2 Winter Wrens were reported by Maynard at Fountain Creek Regional Park on Dec. 16. The first one, located in the dry irrigation bed between the footbridge (go south at visitor center, down the hill, cross the bridge, and walk to the dry channel under the next bridge) and Fountain Creek. The second bird was located south of southermost parking at Willow Springs, directly west of the regional trail (towards Fountain Creek) and adjacent to the sewage pond with the yellow pipe fence and by a rather new concrete milepost marker. An eastern Winter Wren was reported by Lee at Fountain Creek Regional Park along the dry irrigation canal near the waterfall on December 19 Garfield County: --A gray Fox Sparrow was reported by McConnell on the Roaring Fork CBC in No Name on December 19. Jefferson County: --A juv GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Brown behind the Trading Post at Red Rocks on December 19 and was seen by several birders. The sparrow was seen on December 20 by Sanders. --A first year White-throated Sparrow was reported by Bob Spencer at the Trading Post at Red Rocks on December 20. Larimer County: -- A pair of White-winged Crossbills was reported by Leatherman in Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on November 22. The pair was seen on December 19 by Leatherman in sections 7. --A probable 1-st cycle BLACK-HEADED GULL was reported by Hopper at Long Pond in Fort Collins on December 19. --An adult GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL was reported by Hopper at Horsetooth Reservoir on December 19. --An adult GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL and a 1-st cycle Thayer's Gull were reported by Komar at Spring Creek Dam on December 21. --Komar reported that the pair of White-winged Crossbills and a Lapland Longspure were seen on the Fort Collins CBC on December 19. Logan County: --A Barrow’s Goldeneye was reported by Kaempfer at the wastewater treatment plant on the Sterling CBC on December 16. --A Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Kaempfer at Ford Bridge SWA (CR 40 and the S. Platte) on the Sterling CBC on December 16. Montrose County: --A Fox Sparrow was reported by Sinton on the Montrose CBC on December 20. Pueblo County: --The following were reported by Percival as seen on the Pueblo Reservoir CBC on December 19: Surf Scoter, Long-tailed Duck, Barrow's Goldeneye, MEW GULL, Thayer's Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Glaucous Gull, GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, White-winged Dove, Black Phoebe, Northern Cardinal. --A pair of Long-tailed Ducks and male Barrow's Goldeneye were reported by Drummond at the sailboard viewpoint around the dam wall of Pueblo Reservoir on December 20. Routt County: --10 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported on the Yampa River on CR 179 just south of US 40 and east of Milner on December 21 by Litteral.
