Fox Sparrow (Clear Creek)

Great-tailed Grackle (Chaffee)

Arapahoe County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Todd at Cooley Lake in South Platte Park on 
July 6.  Cooley Lake is a limited access area.  Contact park office at 
303-730-1022 to gain access.  Cameron reported that the Green Heron was seen 
again on July 18.

Boulder County:
--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Floyd flying north over Bear Creek on 
July 18.
--5 Green Herons were reported by Stiles at Ricky Weiser Pond in Walden Ponds 
in Boulder on July 19.  On July 25, Spencer reported an adult Green Heron at 
Cottonwood Marsh.
--A male Indigo Bunting was reported by Romain at Mount Sanitas about 30 yards 
from from the turquoise sign on the main/westbound trail on July 20.
--The Pacific Loon first reported by Blatchley on July 10, was seen again by 
Spencer on July 25 at McIntosh Lake in Longmont, by Blackburn on July 26, and 
by Guarente on July 27.

Chaffee County:
--A Great-tailed Grackle was reported by Moss at Franz Lake north of Salida on 
July 21.
 
Clear Creek County:
--A Fox Sparrow was reported by Chavez at Echo Lake on July 18.
 
Delta County:
--Chukars were heard by Garrison at Gunnison River Pleasure Park near Hotchkiss 
on July 18.  They were about 1/4 mile up the main river from the confluence of 
North Fork and the Gunnison River.
--A Purple Martin nest was reported by Garrison on July 27 on Stevens Gulch 
Road north of Paonia.  The site is on a corner downhill from the lowest 
powerline crossing, south of Windy Point.
 
Gunnison County:
--A Yellow-throated Vireo was reported by Dexter at the Beaver Creek Fishing 
Access area and Parking Lot on July 26.  This is about 10 miles west of 
Gunnison.
 
Weld County:
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Lefko on CR 46 on July 18.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, July 31 will be to Cherry Creek State Park led 
by Mary Keithler (303-771-1421).  Meet at the Marina at 0730 for this 1/2 day 
trip.  Bring sunscreen, bug spray and optional lunch.
 
The DFO field trip for Sunday, August 1, will be to Rocky Mountain National 
Park led by Ed Holub (303-979-2194).  Meet the leader at 0800 at the Visitor 
Center near Beaver Meadows entrance.  This will be an all day trip so bring 
lunch and extra water.  Trip will probably finish about 3:15 or 3:30.  The 
entrance fee is $20 per car so carpooling encouraged.
