Adams County:
--A Winter Wren was banded by McBurney at the Barr Lake Banding Station on 
October 3.  McBurney banded a second Winter Wren at Barr Lake on October 7.  
The Winter Wren banded on October 7 was reported by McBurney to still be around 
on October 8.
 
Arapahoe County:
--A juv Red-necked Grebe and juv Sabine's Gull were reported by Walbek at 
Cherry Creek Reservoir on October 5.  On October 6, Brown reported seeing the 
Red-necked Grebe at the pond across the road from the model airplane field and 
on October 7, Levinson saw the Red-necked Grebe at Cottonwood Creek Pond across 
from the model airplane field.  Walbek reported an ad basic Red-necked Grebe on 
the reservoir on October 7.
 
Baca County:
--At Two Buttes SWA on October 8, Wild reported:  1 juv YELLOW-BELLIED 
SAPSUCKER, 1 BLUE-HEADED VIREO, 1 flyover SPRAGUE'S PIPIT, 1 BAIRD'S SPARROW, 
and 1 Swamp Sparrow
 
Bent County:
--At John Martin in the vicinity of the white morph Reddish Egret, Wild 
reported on October 7:  HENSLOW'S SPARROW, probable NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED 
SPARROW, and a flyover SMITH'S LONGSPUR.
--A white-morph REDDISH EGRET first reported by Duane Nelson at the west end of 
John Marin on August 18 was refound by Nelson much further south on October 7.
 
Boulder County:
--5 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Gent at Boulder Reservoir on October 5.
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Nunes in the SW corner of Baseline 
Reservoir on October 8.
 
El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--At Chico Basin Ranch on October 4, Gobris banded 1 Black-throated Blue 
Warbler and 2 White-throated Sparrows.
 
Huerfano County:
--A possible BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was reported by Rich Miller at Lake Martin 
in Lathrop SP on October 3.

Kit Carson County:
--A SEDGE WREN and Northern Cardinal were reported by Wild at Flager SWA on 
October 3.
 
Larimer County:
--A western Palm Warbler was reported by Leatherman on the west side of the 
Poudre River on October 4.
The bird was about 100 yards north of the Environmental Learning Center 
suspension bridge.
--A Winter Wren (eastern) was reported by Leatherman at Grandview Cemetery in 
Fort Collins on October 5.  It was midway along the north edge of section G.
--At Timnath Reservoir on October 6, Wild reported 1 American Golden Plover on 
the NE side of the lake and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.  All birds could be
scoped from the park on the SE side of the reservoir.
--A WOOD THRUSH was reported by Mammoser near the water treatment plant in Fort 
Collins on October 7.  Directions:  From E Prospect Road turn south onto Sharp 
Point Drive, and head towards the Fort Collins Water Treatment plant, just 
before the plant, turn left into the fisherman's parking lot and park towards 
the back.  Get to the paved bike trail and walk East.  Cross a bridge over the 
canal and continue walking along the paved path.  Aproximately 200 yards down 
this paved path there is a dirt path along the Poudre River going back towards 
the start.  Take this path aproximately 40 -50 yards into the wooded area.  The 
thrush was along this dirt path in the center of the wooded area.  

Logan County:
--8 SPRAGUE'S PIPITS were reported by Severs south of Sterling on October 7.
 
Mesa County:
--A RED PHALAROPE was reported by Arnold at the Redlands Pkwy S Pond in Grand 
Junction on October 3.  The bird was seen again on October 6 by Bradley.
 
Phillips County:
--A NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROW was reported by Wild at Frenchman Creek SWA 
on October 5.
--In Holyoke, Wild reported the following on October 5:  1 m Black-throated 
Green Warbler, 1 Blackpoll Warbler, 1 Northern Parula and 2 White-throated 
Sparrows.
 
Prowers County:
--At the Stulp Farm on October 7, Leatherman reported 1 Curve-billed Thrasher, 
1 juv Eastern Phoebe, and an ad Broad-winged Hawk.  This is a private farm 
south of Lamar, please contact Jane Stulp before visiting.
--At Riverside Cemetery, Leatherman reported 1 f eastern Nashville Warbler on 
October 7 & 8 and 1 male first year Black-throated Green Warbler on October 8.
--At Thurston Reservoir on October 8, Leatherman reported a Harris's Sparrow 
and a White-throated Sparrow.
--Leatherman reported Red-bellied Woodpeckers at several places in Lamar on 
October 7 & 8:  Willow Creek, Willow Valley Subdivision, and the Lamar High 
School.
 
Washington County:
--2 ad White-throated Sparrows (tan morph) were reported by Jones at Last 
Chance on October 1.  2 White-throated Sparrows (1 imm, 1 ad)
were reported by Kellner at Last Chance on October 3. 3 White-throated Sparrows 
were reported by Koehn at Last Chance on October 4.  Jones reported 2 
White-throated Sparrows at Last Chance on October 5.
--At Last Chance on October 8, Drummond found a male Black-throated Blue 
Warbler.
--At Prewitt inlet canal grove, an ad m Black-throated Green Warbler was 
reported by Kellner on October 3.
 
Weld County:
--At Union Reservoir on October 5, Nuissl reported a possible Pacific Loon.
 
Yuma County:
--1 ad m Black-throated Green Warbler was reported by Wild at Bonny Reservoir 
on October 3.
  
The DFO field trip for Saturday, October 9 will be to Bear Creek Lake Park and 
possibly Red Rocks led by Mike Henwood (303-716-8551).  Meet at 0830 at park 
entrance for 1/2 day trip.  Carpooling is a good idea (Non-residents $5 per 
car).  Park extra vehicles next to Conoco Station at C470 and Morrison Road.  
Leftover migrants and probably Fall arrivals.
 
The DFO birding event for Sunday, October 10 will be The Big Sit at the Heron 
Overlook at Chatfield State Park.  Joey Kellner is the leader
of this (303-978-1748).  (Parks pass required).  Come and join Joey and other 
recruits anytime after dawn.  Bring chairs, breakfast, lunch, dinner, picnics, 
coffee, etc.  Bring binoculars, scopes, field guides, and other essential 
birding equipment.
 
A SPECIAL TRIP for Sprague's Pipits will be on Sunday, October 10 led by Norm 
Erthal (303-917-2596).  Meet for carpooling at Division of Wildlife (6060 N. 
Broadway) at 0700.  Exit I-25 at 58th -- go west to Broadway 2 blocks, then 
north 2 blocks to parking lot on right.  Long, full day trip.  Sparrows, 
longspurs, other prairie species possible.  Bring lunch, snacks, water and 
layers of clothing.  Phone or e-mail leader if you plan to go
