I've always thought Colorado's birders are great in doing their best to help
other birders see things!!

Some people were wondering, why I wasn't at Chatfield Reservoir yesterday.  I
was working on a Breeding Bird Atlas Block east of Pueblo in the morning, and
when I returned back home in the afternoon, I was extremely warn out.  I didn't
feel like driving all the way to Chatfield alone, yesterday afternoon.  I
figured that might not be too safe.  Thanks to the many people who attempted to
reach me yesterday, and also, I forgot to thank Rachel Hopper, for giving me
updates by phone today, as I was getting close to Chatfield this morning.

Let me make one more comment about Colorado birders
in general.  Following the discovery and ID, everyone standing on the
sandspit who had seen this bird to his/her satisfaction, spent the rest of
his/her time trying to notify everyone in their address book.  Dozens and
dozens of phone calls and text messages were made to everyone we could think
of.  I thought that was pretty cool!
