I don't think coccinelle is that different from other open source
projects. Modifying
gcc is not trivial. Modifying Emacs core is not trivial. Modifying
coccinelle is not trivial.
In all those cases it requires some amount of effort from the developer to
delve into the internal of a project.

What would you like to add to coccinelle ? Where would you like more
documentation ?
