Er, what exactly was bound to what? In the view-based version, the text field would typically be bound to ‘objectValue.something’ (or possibly just to ‘objectValue’ if you took a shortcut). In effect, you now have a couple of extra keys in the path to the value, and my guess is that it’s no longer KVO compliant.
