Wellll..... this whole love-fear-hate-bravery thing can be seen on two
distinct levels:
The individual will ALWAYS have to deal with fear (as in
self-preservational fear, the 20 skinheads coming up to them, and have to
be avoided).
But society at large is mostly NOT stimulated postively by the
self-preservational fear, especially noting that for instance violent
people (ie. everything from a drunk skinhead to a dictator, and more
metaphorically: companies and governments) use the THREAT of violence (and
so: possible ending-of-life) to achieve the goals that they are seeking after.
I think this is because of the 'bendable' principles one obtains and
nourishes when under the influence of this kind of fear, and this is
holding us back from a "higher" level of internetworking capablities
("higher" only in the case you see sentient beings evolving to more
sophisticated standards as a good thing... ;).
So next time you see 20 drunk skinheads stay and say 'Peace, brothers'...
