Yeah, absolutely the most annoying way to annoy people. If you count out 
that ad campaign on the Finnish City magazine site (or where was it, 
again?): You enter the site and the whole screen goes black for ten seconds 
or so. After the pause there is a cider ad in the middle of the darkness.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this:

The problem: Animated layer ads on the page you try to read.
The solution: F12. Select "disable JavaScript" from the pulldown menu.
