Okay.. 0.8 is very old anyway. We can try upgrading and redoing the code.. I
think they might have moved away from the SimpleConsumer model. I am happy to
work with someone interested in investigating this (may be a separate
ticket?). Can also take it up if no ones interested :)
Also IIUC, first step is upgrading kafka and the next step is providing
separate bundles?
