Ed Nett commented on OPENMEETINGS-2195:
---------------------------------------

Hello,

I am testing it now in Edge latest adn Firefox latest - both running
on Windows 10 Pro - on different machines, of course.  I connected to
the Private Conference Room.

I still see two mic icons next to the second user  in the left column
user bar on Edge  and no mic icons on the movable rectangle (2nd user
has no video - only audio - no camera on 2nd users laptop(

Also on this Edge screen - i see that the 1st user (connected on
Firefox on the other machine) has the orange mic image with a slash
through it but the video camera image does not have a slash through it
even though it is active!

Furthermore on this edge screen the user space for the 1st user
(connected on the other machine)  at the top of the left-column user
column shows medium size image-icons which have the tiny green circle
with the white + in  it for everything except the video camera which
is grey, the mic symbol which is orange and is slashed, and the gear
symbol which is grey.

So there is clearly a problem with the video camera symbol of the 1st
user connected on the other machine, and there are two tiny mic icons
in the user space (not the draggable user rectangle) of the 2nd user
on Edge.

Furthermore, on Edge I am connected as second user, and there is NO
mic cymbot in the draggable user rectangle at all  AND the mic icon in
the draggable user rectangle of the 1st user with video has a white
background and looks strange.

As for the Firefox on which the1st user is connected:

1) There is no draggable user rectangle for the 2nd user at all.
There is only 1 mic icon for the 2nd user in the left column user
space - which is good, and there is a green cicle which I guess means
"on"

As for the 1st user in firefox - the circle in the left column user
bar is "red" even though the second user sees his video and I thing
the sound is working.  Both the video camera medium sized image and
the mic image at the top of the left column user area are orange and
slashed (have slashes through them). The draggable user rectangle
showing the video of this 1st user also has the strange looking white
background for the mic icon box.

I'm going to disconnect as user 2 on edge and reconnect user 2 on
chrome to finish this feedback:

Latest chrome (on up-to-dat Win 10 Pro) looks exactly like firefox -
the same errors - exactly.

Hope this helps. I'm going to make a suggestion on an open mail-list
posting of a general nature which I think will help users using this
software.

>  On Chrome: the mic is not enabled by default, when I click on it, it turns
> orangish color and has backslash through it, but it still doesn't work - even
> though I can see the green audio level rising when I speak. This is with the
> other user's mic (I am connected as two different users using the two
> different browsers) disabled.
> When I enable the other users mike (the user on edge) it still doesn't work
> for the user on Chrome. Additionally, each time I click on the mic as the
> chrome user, another little "speaker" icon with its own volume level appears
> in the user column at the right of the user next to the green dot.
