@SEZ9 Both check out on `ab04db33a`. Nothing is pending locally. 1. After the first write failure, `WALWorkHandler` sets `appendBlockedAfterWriteFailure` and later APPENDs return at L99 without touching the writer, so no further bytes follow a possibly torn record. Pinned by `WALWorkHandlerSurvivabilityTest.assertFailCloseAfterFirstWriteFailure` (L132–184): second APPEND completes false, `times(1)`, flag stays true. Reader-side recovery of a partial tail stays out of scope. 2. F8's WARN/DEBUG split and the F1–F7 changes are all on `ab04db33a`. F2 and F5 landed in `26ce5cb26` and are contained in that head.
