Hi, I'd like to help with this metadata follow-up if nobody is already implementing it. I inspected the two `ConfigFactory.parseMap` boundaries in `MetadataProviderManager.resolveDataSourceConfigs()` and `mergeConfig()` on dev at `1ce2d7815665`. #12443 explicitly excludes metadata-provider conversions, and I found no separate implementation PR for this issue in the current search. I propose extending the existing `MetadataProviderManagerTest` with the quoted regex-key regression, metadata-disabled and enabled-without-datasource controls, and actual datasource merges in both flat and nested connector configurations. The fix should preserve valid key-path semantics and existing datasource override precedence. I would coordinate with #12443's shared helper rather than introduce a competing conversion policy, and keep the change confined to metadata resolution and its tests. Since the reporter has offered to implement the follow-up, could you confirm whether this scope is available for me and whether it should wait for #12443 to merge?
