Merged dev `4dcfa28ccc85`, including #12938, into this branch. New head: `76852b68c9d1`. The existing JSON code, tests and overview docs are unchanged; both upgrade notes retain the new upstream sections. All 67 JSON tests passed (571 with dependencies), and the archived-wrapper LLM regression passed on JDK 17. Root Spotless and verify passed too.
