Thanks, @Rangsh and @SEZ9. That is a helpful separation of the two failures. I checked the upstream fix status again: #12311 is still open and unmerged, so a `dev` sync by itself does not bring that cancellation-race fix into this branch yet. The reported engine failure and the Kafka image-build HTTP 500 should not be repaired by unrelated patches in this PR. No empty commit or extra source change is needed just to obtain a new result. A maintainer can rerun the failed Kafka job; if the next execution reaches a Kafka assertion and fails there, please share that new job link so we can assess that different failure. Once final-head CI is acceptable, write-capable maintainer approval remains the review gate.
