FWIW, I'm using the same method you did in TEZ-1310, except I opted to go to
docbook instead of latex. The rest I'm cleaning up with perl. I've got a
newer changeset that fixes a lot of the table problems, but I'll wait to post
that later. I've been saving the intermediate bits to
https://github.com/aw-altiscale/apt-to-markdown-test if someone wants to see
what they would look like on github.
