Just recall, though, that Winbloze ME was once in BETA. Could you believe it? It was not so long ago that I was in the same boat as our young friend here with my first Mac. My ultimate solution was (by dim recollection), a dailup connection to a Unix shell account, a self-extracting archive (.sea), and zmodem. I lucked out that I had Global Village software including zTerm available - on floppy. My first downloads were FreePPP and Fetch, which then allowed me to connect to my ISP. I think I used lynx on the Unix side to find the files. However, I don't see where Expander is available in .sea format! MindExpander? Power Archiver? It's been so long since I did *without* Expander! Would not a .sea archive downloaded to a pee-cee, then to a pee-cee disk, and finally to the Mac ... would this not work? As a simple solution? Has anyone contacted Aladdin about this? Alas, it brings me great pleasure at this point that I do not have a pee-cee on which I could be forced to test this. -- // A.
