No reason why a 7200 (or 10,000 or 15,000!) RPM hard drive wouldn't work, nor a 68 pin drive, with the proper adapter (although some people, not myself, have problems with those adaptors). I think it is worthwhile to put a nice fast drive (not a new Ultra160 unless you get a good deal. :-) ) in an SE/30.
