You can use either a SCSI ethernet adapter or a Farallon EtherWave Mac/PB adapter. Either will put the Classic directly on the ethernet for a cost of around $20 (see the swap list). With such an ethernet connection, any networking software that can run on the Classic can be used. If you use some kind of LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge, you will be able to access printers and share files (AppleTalk networking), but probably not TCP/IP stuff. If you go with the serial cable idea you posted, you will be limited to clumsy manual file transfers.
