EGA (Enhanced Graphics Adapter) was an old graphics standard for PCs.
Maxxed out at 640x400x16 colors, also allowed 320x200x32 colors with
special drivers and support that very few things had so they were mostly
limited to 16 colors in things. Of course, for the time, 16 colors was
amazing, especially at 640x400 resolution. Good luck finding one of these.
They're getting rare even in thrift stores, but they do turn up still now
and then.

The same connector was also used for CGA (Color Graphics Adapter), which
could go up to 320x240x4 colors IIRC. Probably not what the SE's connector
is as it wouldn't even be able to make the 512x342 B&W resolution.

Ahh, my first PC had an EGA card. Still have the card too, 64K of RAM on
the thing ;)

Probably could be adapted, but I don't think it would work if it's intended
for an EGA-type monitor. Might work with the original 12" or whatever Apple
II or LC type monitor. Best bet would be to find a real EGA monitor. Should
be cheap enough that if it doesn't work, wouldn't be a big loss. An
original NEC Multisync or Multisync II would be a nice find (in fact, I
have one of each... but the cost of shipping would be far more than what
it's worth). It's possible though unlikely it could be one of the odder
graphics types like Hercules (512x342x2 colors, pretty much like Mac but
tended to be the Amber type monitors rather than white).

Anyway, enough of the graphics history language ;)
