FWIW... I'm using the Macsense router/switch:

I've got the wireless version, there's also one with a built in DSL
modem. These *specifically* support Macs. You configure them using any
browser. They have built in support for PPPoE, so you can share the line
with multiple machines and don't need MacPoet.
