<Beats me.  But it does.  At least that's what the developer note said,
<IIRC.  It definitely controls brightness.

So in other words I hooked the Classic brightness to the SE -5v (that is where the SE 
expects to see -5v) and It worked. Wow! I'm surprised I didn't fry it.
I think if I can figure out how to drive the Classic brightness, and supply -5v to the 
SE motherboard. I may have a Classic with a SE or SE/30 motherboard in it.
