Yo compacters everywhere, Gotta question here about salvaging software. On any number of compact and other Macs that come across my bench. I occassionaly find application software that includes the parenthetical term "...(trimmed)" in its name. Launching and using these "trimmed" applications seems to be comparable to the regular versions of the software. In each case, the "trimmed" software is lighter by from a few kilobytes to mucho megabytes in size. So I assume that someone has been at work with something like ResEdit. Or it may be this is a specially marketed version of the software. I see this "trimmed" software on Macs from schools, business, and Macs that have never been outside the home. And I see it on all sorts of applications. My ramblings about Mac information sources has not yet explained this "trimmed" thing. Any knowlege on this one?
