-- Hi Gamba I removed the Runtime Enabler from the Extension folder and restarted. The IIci started all right and at the end of startup it paused looking for the Runtime ex., I suppose and placed a message "This programs need Runtime Enabler to run". I okayed that and the computer finished its startup and functioned ok, as far as I could tell. The dialog box didn't specify what was not opening so I tried to find the "program" that won't run... checked the Appearance cp and it functioned. I looked at the Startup folder to see what item was prevented from actuating. The only item I have in that folder is "finder commands v 1.0.1" which seems to be functioning. So, (???) I shall go fish for Runtime Enabler 4.0. Thanks much for your help again, and for the tip. dan_A -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
