Yo compacters everywhere,

To my thread here about hard drives formatted with the Drive Setup utility
being used in a compact Mac, our -p <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> responds:

>Depends on what version you used; some of the later drivers don't get along
>with earlier systems too well. I specifically remember having problems with a

Hmmm... Well, after trying a few other things today, I will go and reformat
my Classic II-cum-iMac with HDSC to see if that fixes or unfixes anything.
As it is, the drive I installed had been formatted with some 8.x version of
Drive Setup. Could be I shot myself in the foot here. I'm learning quite a
few ideas here to teach this Classic II all about how to fake it as an
iMac. This thread has lots of life in it. On this forum, we haven't spent
much time talking about what we can coax a Classic II to do. The more I
tinker, the more I learn it can do.

Actually, what I will do is nuke an external drive with HDSC 7.3.5 and pave
it from the Classic II. Then I have one of each for testing. Yeah...

Has any tome ever been written doing a compare and contrast among the
several names and versions of drivers? All I have ever read is anecdotal
along the lines of a Ford vs Chevy argument.

Bill
