The CPU is actually one of the *less* heat-sensitive parts in there; the
analogue boards are what fails :(

That's actually a bad idea, because it keeps the dust from flowing through the
drive and out into the inside of the case, if I'm understanding what you've
done correctly.  Letting the dust pack in around the heads will lead to
premature failure of the drive, unless the seal you've put around the floppy
drive is *completely* airtight (in which case dust won't flow in at all).

Apple made this mistake on most of the IIci/IIcx/Q700 machines I've seen, and I
don't think I've seen one yet that didn't have a horribly filthy floppy drive.
First thing I do is throw away that plastic sleeve on the drive, and dust
accumulation drops very noticeably.
