I've got an SE/30, so I guess I'm kinda in the middle of your spectrum. I added 15M of RAM to it bringing it up to 20M. I may pull the 4 - 1M SIMMs eventually, and replace them with 4M SIMMs, bringing the total to 32M. While I had the case open, I added an ethernet card, so I can move files to it from my G4. I also added a 1G external hard drive to it. I went with external for a few reasons. First, I put the drive in a 20SC case. With this case under the SE/30, it raises the screen to a better height for me. Also, when I need to move alot of files (such as backing up the hard drive), I can disconnect it and hook it up directly to our G4. I've also hooked up a SCSI Zip drive and a 200M Syquest drive to the SE/30. I had a CD-ROM drive hooked up to it, but the CD-ROM extention conflicted with another extention, so I got rid of it. I pretty much just use this machine (the SE/30, not the G4) as an email checker. I use Claris Emailer 1.1.3, which is what I'm typing this on right now. I've got a 28.8 modem (Global Village) to connect it to my ISP. Other software I use on this machine are AppleWorks 5, Claris Organizer, and a wide variety of games (mostly card or board). I use AppleWorks for the word processor and the database (I keep my Lionel train inventory on it, as well as my software serial numbers). I use Claris Organizer to file phone numbers and for about 1 month a year I use it to plan my daily meetings (I think they call it agenda) for a not for profit organization I help out with. All in all, I use this machine more often than I use our G4. Part of that is due to the fact that my wife uses it for work and school, so I shouldn't interupt that. Also, the B & W screen is easier on the eyes to me than the 17" monitor we've got on the G4. Aside from the internet, I rarely use the G4. I've got about $100 wrapped up in this machine and its software, and it provides a lot of functionality for the price. Just my $.02, J White Buy American S.O.S.
