Whaaa...? There's a PC emulator that runs on an 8MHz Mac?!!!?!! What's it emulate, an 8086? I have my 6100 running PCx (see www.emulation.net, then google-search the file name to download, they got a bad link), and I'm desperately trying to find a copy of Windows 3.1 to feed my Windows 95 upgrade CD so I can have my Mac running 95 :-)

Can I get a copy of SoftPC Classic? ;-)

PS: Let's not start discussing PPCs again just 'cus I mentioned it amongst Classic talk... please? :-)

Yep, emulates a 4.77mhz XT with 640K RAM. DOS is reasonably usable, I played a couple old games and tried WP5.1. Windows 3.0... well, it looks hideous and runs even slower. I suppose if you were desperate enough to need a Windows 3.0 program that would run in Real mode, it'd work. You can play Solitaire ;)

As to where to get a copy, I have no clue. I just happened to stumble across it on the swap list. Dunno whether it's quite Abandonware or not yet, though I'm well aware of the actual legal status (or lack thereof) of "abandonware".

Incidentally, it runs fine on up to 68030s with Wish I Were telling it it's running on an LC or Classic. I don't remember if it makes it give color, or what, but it runs. Just crashses on a 68040+ though.
