IDE to Compact Flash adapters should be common and cheap. Compact Flash, by definition 
has all of the functionality of an ATA disk controller built-in, making it 
straightforward to use it as an IDE disk. Compact Flash specs are at:

Have a look at the AEC-7720U Ultra SCSI-to-IDE Bridge from http://www.acard.com as an 
example. They're not cheap and neither are the alternatives.
