I'm running MacTCP on my SE/30 in 7.5.5 - is there some advantage to Open Transport? MacTCP's IP entry field is bizarre, but aside from that it seems to work as expected.
Open Transport does dhcp, Mactpc is static only. I can only guess that the dialing program you would use, FreePPP, MacPPP ect allows Mactpc to find a dhcp address via dialup. Been a long time since I used dialup and the memory is fading fast.
MacTPC is less of a system drain on memory challanged macs, if you have 128mb in the SE/30, like so many on this list seem to it wouldn't be a problem. ;)
Bizarre is a good way to describe Mactpc's interface, once you get it right you are unlikely to forget how you did it.
