ah. just learned from LEM that the memory-hogging system problem is fixed with mode32. i'll install that right away. i also found that there is no mention whatsoever of an 8MB SIMM (just .25, 1, 4, and 16). what the heck do i have in my hands, then? have i been duped? are they really 4MB SIMMS? if so, why don't they work on their own? jj -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
