I ahven't posted for a long term but I'm still lurking. Can anybody help with a networking problem.
I have a mini-network of classic macs with a Plus, an SE/30, aClassic II and a CC running from system 6 to Sytsem 7.5. and all connected by phoneNet/localTalk.
I also have a Farallon Ethertalk (I think) that should provide a bridge to Ethernet. I tried to hook my 800MHz iBook to this.
So basically I connected the phoneNet cable to the Ethertalk and attached the RJ-45 Ethernet cable to the other side and switched on the power. The Ethernet cable is of the crossed over variety because I don't have a hub. I tried the iBook in both OSX and OS9 modes and couldn't see any of the classics. Neither could any of the classics see the iBook.
Am I trying the impossible is there an easy fix? Is there any other way to network?
Andrew
