Hi all, I was wondering what to do about a few minor problems with my SE/30.
Firstly, the speaker used to be very quiet but is not making any noise at all now, and I'm not sure whether this is necessarily a problem with the speaker itself or perhaps something more serious, and unsure how to test it. Sun Remarketing lists SE/30 speakers as "backordered," so I guess I'd need an equivalent part. Can I just use any PC speaker? Secondly, the HDD light that was in the machine plugged into a jumper on the original 80MB hard drive and was positioned purely by means of some sticky tape. Since there's no corresponding jumper on the IBM drive I installed, I was wondering if there might be a jumper on the logic board for the HDD light that this might plug into. Should there originally have been a light conduit from the motherboard to the front panel for the LED? -- Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -- Philip K.
