: that the famous 1984 Super Bowl Mac ad actually ran in 1983 in some
: obscure market on late night television, so that it would eligible
: for some kind of award competition for that year. Perhaps this is

: material for the Macintosh (at least the TV commercial) was ready in

Since Macintosh was launched in January 1984, wouldn't that be quite
normal...? Or am I missing something here?
I'm totally shooting in the dark here, but I read that the Newsweek
"election" insert was in later half of 1984, with the Test Drive
campaign... Maybe that'd explain two versions? (one for Mac's launch,
second for Test Drive promotion).
