If you use postscript fonts ( it will print very clear. If you are
using non-postscript fonts, try to use only the base font sizes
(10,12,14,18,24, etc.) as if you use other font sizes the text is only a
scaled version of a smaller size. It is like taking a 320x240 image and
blowing it up to 640x480. The result is very grainy and crude.
Another reason the stylewriter is grainy would be because of its low
dpi. I have a deskwriter 660c which does in fact print better quality text
and photos than my stylewriter, even with brand-new cartridges. If none of
this helps, try cleaning your cartridge(s).
