Hi Skipp - I have a Mobius 33MHz accelerator card w/the display adapter in my SE/HD, too ...the SE/HD is currently "Mac bag'd" in favour of my SE/30, so it's been a year or so since it was last on.
The 33MHz Mob' holds qty (4) 4MB of SIMMs too (and no, I've never tried to put 16MB SIMMs in it ...although now that I say that, I wonder if it wouldn't be worth at least a try, just to see if it works). You will need to add a couple of drivers to get your SE to recognize any of the Mobius RAM ...I believe I recall at least one (and possibly two) CPs [control panels] for it, too (hmm, one was for the display ...again AFAIR ..so yes, there are two CPs). The RAM driver will map the accelerator RAM as "main" system memory: the onboard SE logicboard memory can be configured as a "semi-permanent" - until you powered down - RAM disk (you can boot from it ...but all that said, I didn't find it that useful, and AISTR that it would cause the odd system crash when I tried booting from it ...the logicboard RAM is otherwise not used. The Mobius doesn't work all that well with sound in some programs btw (it can cause a system freeze that necessitates a hard reset); you might keep that in mind. Other then the sound issue (and only that in the odd program), I found the Mobius board (and drivers) stable (and I used a pretty wide range of programs on that SE). Let me know if the drivers from the Driver Museum don't work (I **think** I had the last "most recent" drivers). --- brandon davis --- -- sacramento, ca -- ----- Original Message ----- > 3.
