Umm, I guess I wasn't thoroughly clear in my earlier response: My SE/HD has a 33MHz Mobius accelerator (both CPU & FPU are 33MHz), and the Mobius board has 16MB total RAM (qty (4) of 4MB SIMMs = 16MB) ...the 16MB of accelerator RAM does indeed "replace" the onboard logicboard's 4MB of RAM as system RAM (through the necessary Mobius boot driver); the OS correctly recognizes the 16MB under the "About This Mac" applet, and the full 16MB is available for system & applications use. ..I previously mentioned that the Mobius driver also allowed the use of the [max] 4MB of SE logicboard RAM as a [warm bootable] RAM drive. So Mobius, too, had adequately solved the "...4MB limit". As for speed: I benchmarked the SE/Mobius against my old IIfx (a 40MHz machine) several times (years back) using Norton, and most of the results were similar (well, except for SCSI throughput of course) ...the SE/Mobius 33 compared quite favorably with the "speedy" IIfx (still does AFATG). --- brandon davis --- -- sacramento, ca -- ----- Original Message ----- > 5.
