The Compacts discharge themselves after a short time. The tool isn't
necessary.

Flyback is black and cylindrical. Has a semi-fat red wire running from it
to a suction cup attached to the picture tube.

A terrycloth towel?  Don't use an eraser. It rubs the gold stuff off.

The worst mistake you can make inside a Compact is to hit the little card
attached at the back of the picture tube. It makes the tiny nub at the very
back break off and allows air in to the tube stopping it from working.
