Hi There, Thanks for the help here. I did take the board out and I did wash it by hand with a old toothbrush also. I even cleaned it with and without the rom chips in it and I have taken the ram out too and cleaned them also.
The dishwasher that doesnt work anymore is a Lady Kenmore (which came with the house) I would never use the heat dryer on it to dry the board cause it gets really hot and it could melt it. I would just get it out on the table to let it dry. I looked the board over with a migifying glass and I didnt see anything broken joints or any leaking componets. Just a nice and clean board. My roommate as also did the samething too and he couldnt see anything broken or any leaking componets. Since I cant seem to get the rom to read I cant see if anything else is working on it. The harddrive does spin up. I dont know about the floppy drive cause I havent tried it. The screen seems to be in pretty good shape. There is no bending or bleeding, Just a perfect black and white checkerboard I could always turn it up and use it to play checkers...LOL Josh ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jennifer Worgan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Compact Macs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2004 2:57 PM Subject: Re: Do recent Classic II's read 800K discs or run 68K software? > Experts on the list on cleaning boards with dishwashers - please review this > carefully and comment as to whether or not this may help Mr. Stacey. > > A dish washer takes hot water with dish washer soap, sprays the dishes a > couple of times, then sprays the dishes with hot, clean water a number of > times to rinse off the soapy water and then (if it has a dry cycle) heats up > the air to speed up drying. > > The key elements seem to be, the type of dishwaher soap, the temperature of > the water, the force of the spray, amount of spray necessary to do the job > (both of soapy water and of clean water), the complete drying of the board > before electricity is introduced. > > Not being an expert, but often seeking alternatives, couldn't these > procesesses be duplicated with a spray bottle? using hot water with > dishwashing soap and then clean, hot water? leaving it stand on end > somewhere safe to dry?
