Hi There, Thanks for the help here.
I did take the board out and I did wash it by hand with a old toothbrush
also.
I even cleaned it with and without the rom chips in it and I have taken the
ram out too
and cleaned them also.

The dishwasher that doesnt work anymore is a Lady Kenmore (which came with
the house)
I would never use the heat dryer on it to dry the board cause it gets really
hot and it could
melt it. I would just get it out on the table to let it dry.

I looked the board over with a migifying glass and I didnt see anything
broken joints or any leaking
componets. Just a nice and clean board. My roommate as also did the
samething too and he couldnt
see anything broken or any leaking componets.

Since I cant seem to get the rom to read I cant see if anything else is
working on it. The harddrive
does spin up. I dont know about the floppy drive cause I havent tried it.
The screen seems to be
in pretty good shape. There is no bending or bleeding, Just a perfect black
and white checkerboard
I could always turn it up and use it to play checkers...LOL

Hi Josh.
This particular mac is prone to failure. :(
I'm more concerned with what the toothbrush can't reach like under chips and sockets, this is where the dishwasher, aerosol cleaned or even soaking may prove more effective.
The checker board screen is part of the system check before the mac starts to boot from media, I could be wrong here its been a while.

Soaking the board in a solution of kitchen products may also be useful. I cant give you the components, something like vinegar and baking soda, then a good rise to get it of before it corrode the board. I don't know exactly what ingredients and measures are used so I hope someone posts this info.
This removes gunk in much the same way as the contact cleaner or dishwasher would. The gunk being alcoline where the mix is Acidic, that might be backwards, sorry its not a strong suit of mine.
Not recommended on what I have wrote.

I have a LC which will do the checkerboard if the ram simms are touched, I guess there is either a bad contact pin or faulty simm there. Can you can test your ram somewhere, other classic mac or old pc?

Good luck
