Unfortunately, the OS X version has TONS of bugs.  The settings pretty  
much have to be *just* right.  (At least it was that way for me)  It  
has been a while since I have used it, but if i remember correctly,  
there's an option to speed up emulation.  Try checking to see if that  
is set to its highest speed.  It also might require a working disk  
image with a fully bootable OS on it.
