I have not yet set up this network (I am about to, I will also be looking
for/purchasing the necessary connectors) and I must admit that I am a
little overwhelmed. :)
Is there a website that explains how to do something like what I am attempting? Can anyone walk me through it a bit?
I found threemacs (http://www.atpm.com/network/) great resource for doing exactly what you're doing. Explains things at a moderate level, not too hard, and easy enough for me to understand ;-)
