Actually, the last thing I want to do is connect any monitor to
the LC 475. With any luck, it will serve as a NetBSD server. I
found a workable solution: an extension which saves the PRAM and
restores it during the boot sequence. So I have to turn the machine
on, off, on (now it will boot because of the dead PRAM battery),
off, then on again (now NetBSD will start because it is in 32-bit
mode).

A similar setup would be acceptable for the CC 575 since I could
power it down fully to reset the PRAM and use the IIe card. But
it the PRAM save/restore program seems to work on the first boot.
I simply cannot win here! Oh well, I don't use the CC for Mac
software very often so it probably won't make much of a difference.

The 1/2 AA size ones cost about $20 (which is what the LC 475 uses).
I haven't checked into the CC 575 one (which seems to use the same
style as Wintels).
