It's a 10/100 switch so it should auto-sense. Maybe I will install MacWeb on there to test the connection. Is there no way to have a persistent stack?

FYI, my layout is as follows...
Cable modem to WAP/Switch... G5 and SE/30 plugged into switch, iBook connects via WiFi. The switch should auto sense.

I will install fetch and try to connect to the G5 via FTP. :)

Hi.

May be a related question. I have a similar setup PowerBook wirelessly connecting to netgear router (only wish I had the G5 to plug in ;-)
The LED on the corresponding ethernet port on my router turns red when I plug the cable in, but won't become green.

The SE is supposed to connect via an Asante en/sc scsi-ethernet adapter - the "original" version in a beige metal case, roughly the size of a video tape. On the back are two SCSI connectors, a BNC and a RJ 45 connector. Seems to OK, the Asante troubleshooter program reports no errors.
I installed the Asante driver and MacTCP on the SE - still nno response to pings...

My question is: Does the adapter need SCSI termination
I could not locate a user guide for this particular model. And I have never ever used SCSI buses...
Or maybe am I having a similar problem...?
